Methodology

While we would like to claim a unique and new methodology for solving problems it would be counter productive with regards to using many of the proven technologies, benchmarks, tools, and bodies of knowledge that are accepted standards of practice. Our solution is to maintain a level of operating knowledge and expertise with regards to the accepted standards and use the appropriate mix to address each client’s individual business needs and the associated challenges. What works for any particular engagement depends on many factors including the business culture, change management needs, data accuracy and availability, client’s ability to support tools after implementation, workforce education, overall business strategy, and other related considerations.

We follow a very consistent and methodical approach to our projects which delivers consistently high quality results for our clients. Key points we focus on are:

  • Organization of the Project / Engagement
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Communication (written, verbal, meetings & schedules, file sharing)
  • Discovery & Information Collection Process
  • Analysis Methods
  • Deliverable Requirements, Reporting & Presentations
  • Conclusions & Recommendations
  • Project Management
  • Training
  • Transitioning

We follow and apply tools and methods from many of the more commonly accepted practices and bodies of knowledge including:

  • Six Sigma / LEAN / Continuous Improvement
  • Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) (note 1)
  • PMBOK® Guide, OPM3®, The Standard for Program Management, and The Standard for Portfolio Management (note 2)
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS)
  • Material Handling Industry of America Guidelines (MHIA)
  • Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals Process Standards (CSCMP)
  • Critical Thinking Methodology
  • DFMEA / PFMEA
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • Others as Applicable
